PDA brands vary from very large manufacturers all the way to local manufacturers without names. While each of them have their merits, it is probably best to go with a larger manufacturer because they generally have better products overall and more options.
There are many different brands of PDAs and each of them seem to specialize in a certain function. For instance, some brands of PDA may be more suited towards business professionals, while other PDA brands are tailored towards entertainment. Depending on what you are going to be using your PDA for it might be a good idea to look into what the PDA was designed to be used for and its specifications. Aside from the major manufacturers, there are also cheap PDA brands out there for those looking for a PDA but not willing to give several hundred dollars for it. These discount PDA brands may still be in excess of one hundred dollars or more, but they will not cost nearly as much as a professional quality PDA would. A cheap PDA may not carry the best PDA brand, but it can still be useful even without all of the extras, especially if you are only looking for a PDA for entertainment purposes. Before you run out and buy the first PDA you find within reach, make sure you do a little research on the history of the manufacturer. Some companies may have been producing PDAs for several years, others may have only tried once. This is not a very telling reflection on the manufacturer, but it can give you an idea of how well developed the PDA will be compared to other PDA brands. It is also important to consider how you will be using your PDA and what programs are available for it. Smaller PDA brands may not have as many programs or add-ons to offer as the larger brands, so it will be a little bit more difficult to customize your PDA to a certain purpose. No matter what you are looking for in a PDA there is usually a PDA brand that has something for you, and if not, there are ways for you to customize your PDA to make it into what you want it to be. Remember to look into the history of the PDA manufacturers to avoid getting a product that is not well tested. While there are many discount PDA brands out there, they may not be as well developed as major PDA brands, but they can still be useful for non-professionals wanting a PDA.
