The Asus P535 is one of the latest entries into the PDA/phone/pocket PC market. You might call it an Asus P535 handheld PDA and you would be right. However, it is much more than an Asus P535 PDA. The navigation is via a five way key and the antenna is not external which makes for a nice design. In regards to the memory of the Asus P535, you can expect 64 MB RAM and 256 ROM plus you have the option of expanding with a secure digital card. The battery is a lithium ion one and you can purchase extras of the Asus P535 PDA battery as spares. However, the battery life is quite good for both standby and talk time modes – up to 200 hours and six hours respectively. In regards to the phone functionality for the Asus P535, it is a triband with several connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB and GPRS/GSM. You also have instant messaging features as well. You have speakerphone capabilities and there are a number of MP3s and MIDIs to choose from for your ringtones. In regards to entertainment purposes, you can listen to your MP3 music files and there are also video recording capabilities and MPEG and WMV video support for playbacks. The built-in camera has a 2 megapixel resolution. And of course, you have the Asus P535 software to support these different features as well. In regards to productivity software, your operating system runs Windows Mobile 5.0. Your email runs on Outlook. You also have Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Reader in addition to synchronization software. And of course there is Internet Explorer for surfing the internet. The bottom line is that this Asus P535 offers quite a bit to the user, including a variety of accessories like leather cases or even an Asus PDA P535 aluminum case which might be handier for those accidental bumps and drops. All in all, the Asus P535 is loaded with a ton of features which is reflected in its price tag. However, most people feel that it is worth it. So if you want the latest “toy” in the smart phone/PDA/pocket PC market, choose the Asus P535.
